Briggs Cooper

Briggs Cooper is a pianist, music director, arranger, and creative collaborator who thrives wherever great music and great people come together. Equally at home behind a grand piano, leading a high-energy band, or building layered sounds in the studio, he brings versatility, musical instinct, and a deep commitment to the people he works alongside.

Briggs believes that being a great musician is about more than playing the right notes. It is about listening, adapting, communicating, and understanding what a song, an artist, and a room need in the moment. Whether he is leading a rehearsal, shaping an arrangement, accompanying an artist, or stepping into an unfamiliar musical environment, he has a natural ability to meet people where they are and help bring their musical vision to life.

His musical experience spans pop, country, rock, blues, Motown, jazz, musical theater, and more. As a performer and music director, Briggs has worked across concerts, festivals, weddings, recording sessions, university events, and live productions. While at Samford University, he opened for The Band Camino, The Brook and the Bluff, KAYKO, Walker Burroughs, and Black Jacket Symphony, while also serving as music director, keyboardist, and arranger for LAKESHORE, Samford's flagship commercial music ensemble and 2025 DownBeat Magazine Undergraduate Outstanding Performance winner.

In 2026, Briggs graduated cum laude from Samford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Music Performance and was named a Presser Scholar, an honor recognizing musical and academic excellence, leadership, service, and contributions to an inclusive community. He was also repeatedly invited to perform for university events hosted by Samford President Beck Taylor and First Lady Taylor, including receptions, dinners, and awards ceremonies, and fundraisers.

Whether he is focused on a single musical detail or the arc of an entire production, Briggs brings the same combination of preparation, joy, curiosity, humility, and purpose to his work. He cares deeply about making the people around him better and about creating music that feels connected, connective, intentional, and alive.

Now based between the worlds of performance, production, and creative collaboration, Briggs is excited to work with artists, bands, producers, and teams who value great music, strong relationships, and the pursuit of something better.
